Genus Alyssum Family Brassicaceae

Description: Annual herbs, hoary-tomentose.

Flowers in racemes. Sepals equal. Petals clawed. Stamens with appendages.

Silicula compressed, dehiscent, septum broad, without prominent veins; seeds 4–6 per loculus.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 150 species, Mediterranean to Siberia. Australia: 2 species (naturalized).

The record of A. minus (L.) Rothm. for the State is not substantiated.
