Description: Stoloniferous or rhizomatous aquatic perennials.

Leaves all alternate and long-petiolate, with lamina floating; lamina circular, peltate.

Flowers floating, solitary, axillary. Perianth segments 6–8. Stamens variable. Carpels 4–18.

Fruit indehiscent, fruiting pedicels recurved.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, Africa, Asia, America & Australia. Australia: 1 species (native).
