Description: Trees.

Leaves pinnately compound; stipules prominent on new growth.

Inflorescences terminal or axillary panicles. Flowers small, numerous. Calyx lobes 5. Petals 5. Stamens 10; connective produced into a small appendage. Ovary superior, 2-locular.

Fruit a septicidally dehiscent capsule; seeds hairy.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 11 species, Philipp. to Australia, 1 species South America. Australia: 2 species, Qld, N.S.W.
