Genus Macgregoria Family Celastraceae

Description: Erect to procumbent annual, stems slender and branching.

Leaves alternate.

Inflorescence racemose. Hypanthium shallow. Sepals free. Petals free, clawed. Stamens equal; anthers tipped by a white gland; filaments much shorter than anthers. Ovary of 5 carpels; style surrounded by membranous cup at base; stigmatic lobes 5, spreading.

Cocci 5, without wings, connected to a central axis by a small attachment leaving a scar on coccus after shedding; style inserted between mature cocci.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
