Genus Papillilabium Family Orchidaceae

Description: Epiphytic herbs, monopodial; roots creeping over the surface of the substrate or aerial, fibrous.

Leaves tufted at apex of the stem, 2 or more per shoot, distichous, conduplicate, sometimes with dark spotting.

Inflorescence racemose, lateral, several-flowered; flowers resupinate. Sepals free, similar. Lateral petals free, as long as, but narrower than sepals. Labellum rigidly attached to tip and margins of column foot, forming a prominent, backward-pointing spur; lamina 3-lobed, lacking calli. Column lacking free filament and style; column wings apparently absent. Column foot longer than column. Anther incumbent, cap-like. Pollinia 4, waxy. Stigma entire. Rostellum prominent, decurved, ventral.
