Genus Rhodosphaera Family Anacardiaceae

Description: Evergreen trees, dioecious.

Leaves alternate, imparipinnate; leaflets ± opposite, margins entire or ± lobed in juveniles.

Inflorescences terminal and axillary, paniculate. Sepals 5. Petals 5. Male flowers with 10 stamens inserted below margin of disc; disc lobed between filaments; sterile ovary not present. Female flowers with 10 staminodes; ovary seated on disc, 1-locular.

Fruit a drupe; exocarp papery; mesocarp thick, woody; endocarp bony, compressed.
