Genus Triptilodiscus Family Asteraceae

Description: Small annual herbs.

Leaves alternate, cauline, simple, entire.

Heads solitary or in an open monochasium; involucral bracts in a few series, outer scarious, inner cartilaginous clasping the outer achenes, not radiating; receptacle glabrous, naked. Florets numerous, the outer female; corolla tubular, 3- or 4-toothed. Anthers with filiform tails. Style apex truncate.

Achenes scabrous; pappus bristles narrow-lanceolate, plumose, persistent, sometimes reduced in female florets.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
