Description: Shrub to c. 1 m high; branchlets variably hairy, sometimes almost glabrous, with usually 2 axillary fine spines per node which are 2–20 mm long.

Leaves bipinnate; pinnae 1 pair, 3–10 mm long; pinnules 4–8 pairs, oblong to narrow-oblong, 1–5 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide, usually dark green above and light green below, glabrous or ciliolate; petiole 0.5–1.5 mm long; small gland in axil of pinnae occurs on a stalk (stipitate) to 3 mm long.

Heads globose, usually 24–40-flowered, bright yellow, 1–3 in axil of leaves; peduncles 5–15 mm long, minutely hairy, on an obscure raceme.

Pods flat or slightly undulate, to 4.5 cm long, 3–4 mm wide, glabrous, infrequently hairy.

Flowering: around September.

Distribution and occurrence: a naturalised, localised population has been recorded as a garden escape in Lawson, Blue Mountains. Endemic to south-western W.A.

at Lawson it occurs in a disturbed eucalypt forest 'nature-strip' on a sandstone ridgetop.
