Description: Peduncles glabrous, or almost so; bracts glabrous on inner surface, hairy on outer surface. Bracts reddish brown, markedly ciliate on the margins, not reflexed in fruit; receptacle rarely elongating in fruit. Low shrub to 1.5 m high. Leaves elliptic, mostly 15–40 mm long. Peduncles glabrous. Heads with 20–70 flowers, pedicels with white hairs.

Distribution and occurrence: In open forest, woodland and heath above 1400 m alt., south from the Brindabella Ra.
