Calotis glandulosa F.Muell. APNI*

Description: Erect or ascending, branched herb to 35 cm high, ± woody at base, hirsute with short glandular hairs and scattered longer septate ones.

Basal leaves absent; cauline leaves cuneate but pinnatifid at apex, 1.5–3 cm long, 5–9 mm wide, glandular-hairy, sessile.

Heads c. 20 mm diam., solitary; involucral bracts ovate to lanceolate, acute, entire, glandular; receptacle conical, without scales. Ray florets white to blue; ligule 5–8 mm long.

Achenes flattened, 1–2.5 mm long, red-brown, tuberculate; pappus of 4 or 5 awns of unequal length, 1.5–5 mm long, barbed towards apex, and with long narrow ciliate scales.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in grassland and sclerophyll forest at higher altitude, from Eden to Dubbo area.
