Description: Small annual.

Style 3-fid.


Distribution and occurrence: Not yet collected in NSW but may occur in far western NSW. It has been collected near the Murray River in Victoria and South Australia, and farther north in NE South Australia and SW Queensland. It was probably introduced to Australia with camels.

Open areas, commonly grows with other annual species of Cyperaceae.

Dried plants smell of fenugreek (as in the allied species Cyperus squarrosus ).
