Description: Shrub to 1.3 m high.

Leaves alternate, densely crowded; lamina elliptic or obovate or triangular, 0.5–5 mm long, 0.3–2 mm wide; apex acute or rounded, without a mucro; margins entire, strongly revolute; surfaces discolorous, upper surface minutely tuberculate, lower surface grey-woolly; venation indistinct; sessile or subsessile.

Heads terminal, solitary, sessile, 22–27 mm diam. Ray florets 8–13, blue to mauve. Disc florets 11–15, blue or yellow.

Achenes silky; pappus with 27–47 long bristles in 2 series, with an outer row of short bristles.

Flowering: June–August

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest in elevated terrain; chiefly north from the Narrabri district, also collected in the Shoalhaven Gorge and north of Roto.
