Scaevola humilis R.Br. APNI*

Description: Decumbent or ascending perennial to 50 cm high, ± woody at the base, with short soft fine white simple ± crescent-shaped hairs or almost glabrous.

Leaves elliptic to narrow-obovate, 10–50 mm long, 4–17 mm wide, tapering towards base, margins coarsely toothed.

Flowers in spikes to 15 cm long; bracts leaf-like but smaller; bracteoles narrow-elliptic to lanceolate, 6–9 mm long. Sepals basally fused, broad-ovate, to 0.6 mm long. Corolla 12–23 mm long, blue or white, with simple hairs outside, densely bearded inside with all hairs simple; wings to 1.5 mm wide. Anthers glabrous. Indusium to 2 mm long, with purplish bristles at base equalling or exceeding those on lips.

Fruit ovoid, 3–5 mm long, pubescent, wrinkled.
