Description: Prostrate or erect herb to 20 cm high, glabrous.

Leaves ovate to lanceolate, 20–50 mm long, 7–18 mm wide, apex ± acute, base tapering, margins undulate.

Inflorescence a terminal or axillary solitary flower or a few-flowered terminal cyme; shortly pedunculate; pedicels 10–30 mm long. Flowers 10–15 mm diam., pink to mauve. Tepals spreading, 7–8 mm long, 2–4 mm wide with outer ones slightly broader than inner ones. Stamens 5–6 mm long.

Capsule ovoid, wrinkled, 5–8 mm diam.; seeds few, yellow or brown.

Distribution and occurrence: Widespread, but not common; grows in moist sites in open forest; south from Lismore district.
