Description:

Plants acaulescent; stem 10-48 cm long, stem 13-48 cm diam; persistent leaf bases dark, spreading.

Leaves 1-5 in crown. New growth emerging light green or bluish. Leaves dark green, semiglossy, 81-374 cm long, flat (not keeled) in section, with 10-32 leaflets; vernation circinnate; rachis not or slightly spirally twisted; petiole 20-124 cm long, unarmed (or with few prickles).

Leaflets not clustered, lanceolate (ob), asymmetric, broadest above middle, not falcate, strongly discolorous, thick or leathery; margins flat; median leaflets 23-39 cm long, 32-65 mm wide.

Cataphylls 35-55 mm long.

Pollen cones yellow-green, narrowly ovoid-cylindrical or fusiform-cylindrical, 11-29 cm long, 2.9-4.3 cm diam.; peduncle 4-10.5 cm long; microsporophyll lamina 12-14 mm long, 7-9 mm wide, with two horns 3-5 mm long.

Seed cones green or yellow-green, ovoid-cylindrical, 22-26 cm long, 9.5-9.8 cm diam.; peduncle 6-7 cm long; megasporophyll 15-23 mm long, with an expanded peltate apex 24-28 mm wide, with two horns 4-6 mm long.

Seeds ovoid, 21-22 mm long, 16-17 mm wide; sarcotesta white, aging to brown.
