Plants arborescent. Stem 5 m tall, 40 cm diam. Leaves light or bright green, highly glossy, 140-180 cm long, flat (not keeled) in section (opposing leaflets inserted at 180° on rachis), with 160 leaflets; basal leaflets not reducing to spines, petiole spine-free for 10-15 cm. Leaflets lanceolate, not falcate, inserted at 90° to rachis, not overlapping; margins flat, entire; median leaflets 14-19 cm long, 18-21 mm wide. Pollen cones narrowly ovoid to fusiform, pale brown, 30-50 cm long, 8 cm diam. Seed cones ovoid to narrowly ovoid, pale brown, 60-80 cm long, 20-25 cm diam. Seeds oblong, 50-60 mm long, 30 mm wide, sarcotesta cream or white.
