Cosmarium margaritiferum f. regularius (Nordst.) West & G.S.West Zygnematophyceae AlgaeBase*

Class Zygnematophyceae
Family Desmidiaceae

Synonyms: Cosmarium confusum var. regularis Nordst. AlgaeBase*

Description: L 35.0–35.3um, Br 28.9–29.1um, I 9.0–10.0um, Th 17.9–18.1um, L:Br 1.2. Although central granules do not appear to be larger than the outer granules they do however, have more granules at the apex. The measurements are smaller than quoted in Croasdale & Flint, and it seems that forms of C. margaritiferum are variable in the position and arrangement of the granules. (Dingley 2002).

State distribution in Australia, based on available literature
