Description: L. 7.0um, Br. 5.0um, Isth. 3.8um, L.:Br. 1.4 (Fig 6f). A single filament was observed consisting of 13 Cosmarium-type cells joined at their apices. Each semicell has 1 or 2 almost indiscernible granules but this was not consistent among cells. Although the author has not been able to examine S. pygmaeum (Cooke) West it does seem to agree with the description in West et al (1923, p. 221, pl. 160, figs 20,21) being longer, more broadly oval and semiglobular.
