Description: L. 19.5–20.6um, Br. 20.3–21.5um, Isth. 7.9–11.2um. Cell wall generally smooth but some specimens had very fine, almost non indiscermible punctae that were just visible using a 100Xoil immersion objective. This taxon differs from the nominal in its smaller size. This is a new varietal record for Australia. (Dingley 2001)
