Description: L 32.5–33.5um, Br 28.2–28.9um, Isth 9.6–10.5um, Th 18.2–18.9um, L:Br 1.15–1.16. Cells of medium size, sinus deep and linear; semicells truncate pyramidal, the basal angles rounded with 2–3 crenations and then retuse towards the apex. A single row of intramarginal crenae are found within the marginal crenae. The corners of the apex bear a single intramarginal crena. Cell wall is finely punctate. Side view semicells circular bearing a large sub apical crena between which are smaller undulations. the rest of the cell wall infinely punctate. End view broadly elliptical bearing four crenae on teh ends, the largest of which are the two outer ones with two marginal crenae on either side of the mid region. There is a single pyrenoid in each semicell. (Dingley 2001)
