Description: Cells about 1.5 times longer than broad, deeply constricted, with a linear, closed sinus. Semicells in frontal view semi-elliptical to pyramidate in outline, in apical view broadly oval. Cell wall densely beset with granules, arranged in regular, longitudinal rows, each granule surrounded by six small pores. Cell length 100–120um, cell breadth 70–80um, cell thickness circa 45 um,
