Synonyms: Euastrum rostratum var. praemorsum Nordst. AlgaeBase*

Description: NSW: L 62.5–63.1um, Br 36.8–38.8um, Isth 8.0–8.1um, L:Br 1.7. Apices were convex with a deep open notch. There was also a large smooth basal protuberance under two scrobiculi, and two small protruberances at the base of the polar lobe. (Dingley 2001) VIC: L 61.0–64.0um, Br 40.5–41.3um, Isth 9.8–11.6um, Th 28.9um, L:Br 1.5. This form differs from the nominal in being relatively broader and thicker. it resembles the plant figured in Croasdale and Scott (1976), Pl. 5:1. (Dingley 2003)
