Description: Cells about as long as broad or a little longer than broad, deeply constriced. Sinus acute-angled, opened for the greater part. Semicells with deeply incised lobes, incisions all open. Polar lobe narrow, lower part with almost parallel margins, upper part diverging. Lateral lobes of first order unequal, the upper one twice divided, the lower one narrower, once divided, all ultimate lobes gradually tapering into one or two teeth. Cell wall smooth or with some series of small intramarginal teeth. Cell length 245–355um, cell breadth 270–335um, breadth of isthmus 27–36um. (Coesel & Dingley 2005)
