Genus Hannafordia Family Malvaceae

Description: Shrubs with branches and leaves densely stellate-hairy.

Leaves entire, venation pinnate; stipules absent.

Flowers solitary or in pairs on a leaf-opposed peduncle. Calyx deeply divided into 5 linear-subulate lobes, striate in fruit. Petals 5, free. Stamens 5, opposite the petals; filaments very short, attached to the staminodal tube; staminodes fused below, divided above into 15 ± linear lobes. Ovary 3- or 4-locular, each loculus with few ovules; style undivided.

Capsule globose.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 4 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W., N.T., S.A., W.A.
