Leaves opposite. Racemes short, several flowered. Sepals 5, free. Corolla tubular, 5-lobed.
Fertile stamens 2. Capsule not spiny, horns shorter than the body.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, tropical Mexico. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
