Genus Mirabilis Family Nyctaginaceae

Description: Erect herbs, glabrous or glandular-pubescent.

Leaves opposite, each pair equal in size.

Inflorescence a terminal cyme. Flowers bisexual, trumpet-shaped, upper part of the tube and the limb circumsciss. Stamens 3–6, unequal.

Anthocarp ribbed, not viscid.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 60 species, America. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
