Aristida queenslandica var. queenslandica Henrard APNI*

Description: Slender tussock-forming perennial to 1.1 m high; culms wiry, simple to fastigiately branched, lower internodes delicately hirsute.

Leaves with sheath smooth, lower ones often pilose to hirsute; ligule to 0.5 mm long; blade flat or conduplicate, curly on drying, 1–2 mm wide, scabrous, sometimes pilose near the ligule.

Panicle contracted, loose, interrupted, often nodding, 10–45 cm long, branches filiform. Glumes very narrow-ovate, equal or unequal, lower acuminate, upper abruptly acuminate. Lemma linear-elliptic, 6.5–10 mm long, purple or pallid with darker spots; awns stiff or filiform, dissimilar, to 18 mm long.
