Cassinia aculeata subsp. nova-anglica Orchard APNI* Description: Erect shrub 1.2–3.5 m high.
Leaves terete or very slightly flattened, with margins revolute almost to the midrib, 15–45 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, densely aculeate above with rather fine, slightly curved hairs; lower surface white-matted with cottony hairs, with occasinal long and usually gland tipped hairs..
Flower heads white, narrow-cylindrical, 4 mm long, conatining 3 or 4 florets.
Flowering: Flowers in February and March.
Distribution and occurrence: Firstly known to be confined to a small area of New England National Park, near Point Lookout, where only 2 or 3 plants are known, and in the Riamukka State Forest, south of Walcha. A second collection has been identified in the Central Tablelands near Zig Zag railway, Chifley Road, also at high altitude.
