Cyanthillium cinereum var. pinnatifidum Ghafoor APNI*

Description: Erect herbs to 60 cm tall. Stems and branches ribbed, subglabrous to hairy.

Leaves with petiole 5–10 mm long; lamina lanceolate-elliptic to oblong, 2.5–6 cm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide, shallowly to deeply pinnatifid, discolourous, dark green above, sparsely pubsecent and light green below.

Flowers pinkish violet or pinkish white; corolla 5–6 mm long; involucre 4–5 mm long.

Achenes terete, 1.5–1.75 mm long, densely hirsute.


Flowering: Flowers and fruits November–March

Distribution and occurrence: Endemic to Australia, and found in the north east of NSW and south eastern Qld; commonly occurs in disturbed areas in degraded woodland of Eucalytpus carnea and E. tereticornis.
