Eriocaulon carsonii subsp. carsonii APNI*

Description: See species description. Differs from subsp. orientale, which is confined to Qld, by hairs mostly absent on floral bracts and female sepals; short hairs on male petals (105–210 mcm) and female petals (53–158 mcm). [Subspecies orientale has hairs always present on all female sepals and inner bracts in each inflorescence; long hairs on male petals (210–579 mcm) and female petals (105–421 mcm)].


Distribution and occurrence: Only subspecies in NSW; also Qld and SA.

Restricted to discharge mound springs on the W to SW margins of the Great Artesian Basin.
