Myriophyllum pedunculatum subsp. pedunculatum Hook.f. APNI*

Description: Perennial herb, aquatic or fully emergent; stems up to 1 mm diam., prostrate with erect laterals.

Leaves all opposite, linear to trifid with segments terete, mostly 4–20 mm long, margins entire or with 1 or 2 lobes.

Plants monoecious; male and female flowers on the same shoot, or different shoots, solitary in the axils. Male flowers initially sessile with the pedicel elongating to 1–4.5 mm long; sepals linear to ovate; petals 1.5–2.5 mm long, red to yellow. Female flowers sessile or shortly pedicellate; sepals small, filiform to triangular; petals absent; stigmas usually red. Mericarps ovoid to obpyriform, 1–1.5 mm long, reddish purple to black, smooth or warty.
