Pomaderris betulina subsp. betulina A.Cunn. ex Hook. APNI*

Description: Shrub 1–4 m high, young stems rusty stellate-tomentose.

Leaves lanceolate to ± oblong to elliptic, 1.5–3 cm long, 5–15 mm wide, margins usually distinctly recurved, ± toothed; upper surface commonly glabrous, sometimes sparsely covered with stiff hairs, secondary veins strongly impressed, not obviously wrinkled between impressed secondary veins; lower surface tomentose with stellate hairs, at least veins rusty.

Flowers yellowish, sessile in dense bracteate head-like clusters. Petals absent, or rarely 1 or 2 in some flowers. Sepals 1.5–2 mm long, not persistent in fruit.

Capsule and hypanthium covered with long rusty hairs over a short whitish or greyish tomentum.
