Synonyms: Pomaderris sp. A sensu Harden (1990) APNI*

Description: Shrub 2–3 m high, young stems rusty stellate-tomentose.

Leaves lanceolate to ± oblong to elliptic, 1.5–3 cm long, 5–15 mm wide, margins recurved, ± toothed; upper surface commonly glabrous, sometimes sparsely covered with stiff hairs, not obviously wrinkled between impressed secondary veins; lower surface tomentose with stellate hairs, at least veins rusty.

Flowers yellowish, ± sessile in dense bracteate head-like clusters. Petals absent. Sepals not persistent in fruit. Hypanthium and capsule covered with long rusty hairs over a short whitish tomentum.

Distribution and occurrence: in open forest, chiefly in the ranges, south from Torrington.

In shrubland, woodland and forest on ridges, cliff lines and dry gullies, usually on skeletal or shallow soils.
