Asperula geminifolia F.Muell. APNI*

Description: Herbs with stems to c. 1 m long, sometimes supported by surrounding vegetation. Stems with internodes to 90 mm long, mostly 15–60 on long branches.

Leaves spreading to pendent, very narrow-elliptic, linear, 10–50 mm long, 0.7–3 mm wide, mainly glabrous; leaves on short inflorescenes erect, 1–10 mm long.

Flowers in a cyme of several to numerous flowers; peduncles on ultimate branches sub-sessile, elsewhere peduncles are elongated. Flower with corolla tube equal to or longer than the corolla lobes; male flowers 3–4 mm long; female flowers 1–2 mm long.

Fruit c. 2 mm long.

Flowering: Flowers in spring.

Distribution and occurrence: Occurs in north-eastern New South Wales and south-eastern Queensland.

Grows in clay soils and in sedimentary rock in woodland and forest. Often associated with Geijera parviflora.

Often noted as scrambling among grasses or trailing down rock faces. Similar to A. gemella apart from the floral morphology with the short corolla tube being the chief identification character.
