Description: Woody shrub to 3 m high; new shoots and leaf axils minutely hairy.

Leaves narrow-elliptic to lanceolate, 2–7 cm long, usually 1–3 cm wide; petiole to 1 cm long.

Inflorescences terminal, panicle-like, congested; flowers sessile or on pedicels ≤ 10 mm long. Calyx 3–5 mm long; lobes triangular, c. 1 mm long. Corolla greenish yellow; tube narrow, 15–18 mm long. Staminal filaments 6–7 mm long, swollen and retrorsely hairy in lower part; anthers 0.5–1 mm long.

Berry ± ovoid, 10–15 mm long, black.
