Description: Erect, yellowish green, shrub or small tree to 5 m high; branches strongly angular, broadly and prominently ridged below leaf scars.

Leaves subulate, 0.75–2 mm long, appressed to slightly spreading, present on young stems and growing tips.

Flowers axillary, solitary; peduncles c. 1 mm long; bracts and bracteoles more acute and less erose than C. candollei


Flowering: Flowers in summer.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in wet and dry sclerophyll forest, chiefly on sandy soils; north from the Blue Mtns.
NSW subdivisions: NC, CC, CT, CWS
Other Australian states: Qld

Further study is required to ascertain whether this taxon and C. candollei actually form disjunct populations; it is possible that the 2 taxa may intergrade.
