Description: Erect shrub or small tree to 5 m high.

Leaves imparipinnate, 7.2–14.5 cm long, rarely to 20.5 cm; leaflets mostly 19–31, lanceolate, mostly 17–24.5 mm long, 4–7.5 mm wide, usually asymmetric, apex acute, base cuneate, margins entire.

Flowers in many-flowered axillary cymes; pedicels 2–7 mm long. Sepals 3 or 4, lanceolate to broad-ovate or broad-oblong, 1.8–2.7 mm long, not persistent. Stamens 8. Ovary sparsely pubescent.

Capsule 3-winged, 7.5–10.5 mm long, 13.5–22.5 mm wide, glabrous; wings 4.5–8 mm wide, membranous.

Distribution and occurrence: Usually grows in dry sclerophyll forest or on margins of rainforest usually on sandstone; not common, north from Wollemi N.P.
