Iseilema membranaceum (Lindl.) Domin APNI*

Description: Tufted annual to 80 cm high.

Leaves with sheath glabrous, sometimes reddish; ligule 1–2 mm long; blade 2–5 mm wide.

Inflorescence to 20 cm long; spathes to 1.5 cm long; spatheoles 0.8–1.2 cm long. Racemes exserted at maturity, 5–7 mm long. Involucral spikelets male or sterile, 3–4 mm long; pedicels 1.5–2 mm long; lower glume 9–15-nerved; upper glume 3-nerved; lower lemma to 3.5 mm long, nerveless; upper lemma and palea absent. Fertile sessile spikelets female, 5–6 mm long; lower glume 8-nerved; upper glume 3-nerved; lower lemma to 3 mm long, nerveless; upper lemma to 3.5 mm long, with an awn to 1.5 cm long. Pedicellate spikelets male or sterile, 2–3.5 mm long; pedicels 2.5–3 mm long; lower glume 7–9-nerved; upper glume 3-nerved.
