Lagenophora adenosa Jian Wang ter & A.R.Bean APNI* Description: Perennial rhizomatous herb. Intially with basal rosette but elongating over time.
Leaves obovate to spathulate, 7–15 cm long, 1–3 cm wide, sessile with a winged petiole like base; apex obtuse; margins sinuate to undulate, with shallow lobing; upper leaf surface green, lower leaf surface pale green, both surfaces with hairs and sessile glands.
Inflorescences 1–3 per plant tuft, terminal on scapes 10–23 cm at flowering, elongating to 15–26 cm at fruiting. Heads 6–7 mm long, 12–15 mm wide; involucre bracts in 5–6 rows, linear to narrow-lanceolate, glabrous except for hairs confined to midrib, apex acute to acuminate, margins fringed in apical half. Ray florets mauve to blue, apex obtuse and usually 2-lobed; disc florets mauve.
Achenes oblanceolate, straight to slightly curved, excluding beak 2.8–33 mm long, brown; edges not thickened; glands on beak, margins and apex and bsal portions of achene, main body of achene mostly glabrous.
Flowering: Flowers November to March; fruiting January to April.
Distribution and occurrence: From Canberra and Captains Flat south to the Victorian border, restricted to altitudes above 1,000m. In a variety of habitats from wet sclerophyll forest, montane forests, low open woodlands and alpine meadows.

Similar in appearence to Lagenophora stipitata but differes in the larger leaf size, crenate to undulate leaf margins, and the gland distribution on the achenes.
