Synonyms: Myosurus minimus var. australis (F.Muell.) Huth APNI*

Description: Annual.

Flowering stems few to many, 1–15 cm high.

Leaves 1–8 cm long. Sepals 3–5 mm long, basal spur 1.5–2 mm long. Petals 2.5–3 mm long, claw about half the length of the petal; nectary near the mid-point of petal.

Fruiting heads 0.7–4.5 cm long. Achenes usually >70, the dorsal surface elliptic or diamond-shaped, 0.7–0.13 mm long with an appressed or spreading beak.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in intermittently moist sites in sub-arid regions.
