Parentucellia viscosa (L.) Caruel APNI*

Description: Erect viscid herb 10–70 cm high, covered by soft glandular and stiff non-glandular hairs.

Leaves narrow-ovate to elliptic, 10–42 mm long, 3–12 mm wide, apex acute, base rounded, margins toothed, upper leaves with about 6–10 pairs of teeth.

Racemes dense with many subsessile flowers, elongating slightly in fruit. Calyx 10–17 mm long, finely ribbed. Corolla 15–24 mm long, yellow, with broader lips than the preceding species, not persistent in fruit. Anthers yellow.

Capsule narrow-ovoid, 11–18 mm long, densely non-glandular-strigose.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in moist to seasonally swampy areas, often in woodland; recorded for Blue Mtns and Albury district. Native of Medit. region.
