Description: Erect subshrub, often compact and bushy.

Leaflets articulate at base, obliquely obovate, 15–35 mm long.

Sepals 5. Petals 5, obovate, 10–15 mm long, distinctly longer than the sepals, bright yellow. Stamens 10; filaments winged in lower part; wings finely toothed at apex. Fruiting pedicels 4–10 mm long, usually reflexed.

Capsule 5-angled, campanulate to turbinate, 7–10 mm long, apex abruptly truncate with a short blunt appendage at upper corner of each angle; seed 1 per loculus.

Flowering: August–September

Distribution and occurrence: Grows on calcareous sandy loams; widespread over most of the State except the SE and NE regions. Also in southern Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, southern Northern Territory, southern Western Australia.
NSW subdivisions: NT, NWS, NWP, SWP, NFWP, SFWP
Other Australian states: Qld Vic. W.A. S.A. N.T.
