Sida goniocarpa (F.Muell. ex Benth.) Domin APNI*

Description: Erect to ascending perennial herb or subshrub with branches or leaves sparsely pubescent, except in young shoots.

Leaves lanceolate to ovate-oblong, 1–4 cm long, 2–15 mm wide, base obtuse to rounded, margins serrate to serrulate, mid- to dark-green; stipules 1.2–2.5 mm long.

Flowers solitary on pedicels 7–35 mm long, sometimes appearing to be in racemes when associated with developing shoots. Calyx 2.5–3 mm long, densely pubescent, enlarging to 4–6 mm in fruit, the teeth broad-triangular. Petals yellow to orange-yellow, 7 mm long.

Fruit transverse-ellipsoid, 7–8 mm diam., mericarps 6–9, pubescent, rugose on lateral wall, with radiating prominent thin wings at the margin of each mericarp, with a slightly to prominently raised apical region..


Distribution and occurrence: Uncommon, grows on heavy clay soils.
