Description: Shrub to 2 m high, sparsely pubescent with appressed hairs except for the inner floral parts, often glaucous.
Leaves 2–5 cm long including a terete petiole 5–15 mm long; leaflets 2–3 pairs, ovate to obovate, 10–40 mm long, 10–20 mm wide, flat or rarely recurved at the margin, apex obtuse to emarginate, glands 1–3 between all or the lowest leaflet pairs.
Flowers 4–12 in axillary, subumbellate racemes near the ends of the branches; petals glabrous, 8–10 mm long, stamens 10, anthers subequal.
Pods flat, c. 7 cm long, 15–25 mm wide, straight or slightly curved.
Flowering: Flowers winter and spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Inland plains and rocky slopes; north from White Cliffs.
