Description: Woody climber, ± glabrous; tendrils unbranched.
Leaves palmately compound; leaflets mostly 5, elliptic or obovate (sometimes broadly so), 5–15 cm long, 15–80 mm wide, apex acuminate, base tapering into petiolule, margins entire or less commonly irregularly toothed, both surfaces glabrous and green, several prominent domatia present; petiole 2–8 cm long, petiolules 5–20 mm long.
Inflorescences umbellate, 3–8 cm long. Petals 1.5–2 mm long, white.
Fruit globose to obovoid, c. 15 mm diam., purplish.
Flowering: late spring to summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Widespread but not common, in subtropical and littoral rainforest; north from Jervis Bay.
