Dampiera stricta (Sm.) R.Br. APNI* Synonyms: Dampiera oblongata R.Br. APNI*
Description: Erect multistemmed perennial subshrub, 20–60 cm high, stem with 3 acute angles, glabrous or glabrescent except for flowers.
Leaves often bunched towards top of stem, linear to elliptic or lanceolate, l.6–4.5 cm long, 2–19 mm wide, margins entire or with a few teeth; sessile.
Flowering branches l-2 in leaf axils, l- or 2-flowered, to 3 cm long. Sepals 0.7-l.2 mm long. Corolla with rusty hairs outside; wings 2–2.7 mm wide, smaller above auricle.
Fruit 4–5 mm long, ribbed, rusty-hairy.
Flowering: chiefly August–January
Distribution and occurrence: Usually grows in heath on sandy soils; widespread on the coast and ranges, west to Monga in the south and Torrington district in the north.
