Senecio tuberculatus Ali APNI*
Description: Annual herb, mostly 20–50 cm high, usually much-branched from base.
Leaves linear to oblanceolate or obovate in outline, mostly 4–10 cm long, 4–30 mm wide, pinnatifid or bipinnatifid, margins toothed, both surfaces glabrous or sparsely hairy, tapered into petiole-like base, expanded but not stem-clasping.
Inflorescence irregularly corymbose; heads few to many; heads campanulate, 8–10 mm diam., glabrous except for fimbriate apices; involucral bracts 19–21, 4–5.5 mm long; bracteoles 3–6. Ray florets 8–15; ligules c. 8 mm long.
Achenes 5–6 mm long, prominently beaked, brown, papillose; pappus c. 5 mm long, persistent.
Flowering: mostly spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll woodland; west from Warialda district, widely scattered in arid regions.
