Description: Annual herbs.

Inflorescence a raceme elongating from a corymb. Sepals erect, scarcely dimorphic. Petals clawed.

Siliqua dehiscent; valves with 1 prominent vein; seeds in 1 row per loculus, mucilaginous when wet.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 13 species, North America, Eurasia to East Africa. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
