Genus Bonamia Family Convolvulaceae

Description: Perennial subshrubs or vines with trailing or twining, or rarely erect, stems.

Leaves simple, entire; hairs bifid.

Inflorescence axillary, flowers solitary or occasionally in simple cymes, bracteolate. Sepals 5, free, ± equal to very unequal. Corolla funnel-shaped or campanulate, entire or slightly 5-lobed, with pilose mid-petaline bands. Stamens 5, filaments ± equal to unequal, tuberculate to shortly hairy below the point of attachment, rarely glabrous. Ovary 2-locular with 2 ovules per loculus, usually pilose in the upper part; styles 2, united in the lower half, each with a globose stigma.

Capsule ovoid-conical, splitting longitudinally into 4–8 valves.
