Genus Bouchardatia Family Rutaceae

Description: Small trees, with simple hairs, unarmed.

Leaves opposite, pinnately 3- or 5-foliolate; leaflets with entire margins; lateral leaflets opposite.

Inflorescences axillary in the upper axils or terminal, paniculate. Flowers bisexual. Sepals 4, free. Petals 4, ± valvate, free, not persistent in fruit. Stamens 8, free, divergent. Carpels 4, basally fused, lacking a sterile apex; styles fused, arising from about the middle of the carpels; stigma scarcely differentiated from style; ovules 6–8 in each carpel.

Fruit of 1–4 cocci; cocci transversely ridged, with truncate apices; seeds released (probably forcibly) from dehiscing cocci, shiny, brown.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, New Guinea & Australia. Australia: 1 species
